Mr. Arun Thangaraj has over 20 years of federal government experience. In 2011, he joined the former Canadian International Development Agency, now Global Affairs Canada, as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Director General, Financial Resource Management and Planning. In July 2015, he was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Global Affairs Canada. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of corporate planning, IM/IT and financial planning for the Department.
Mr. Thangaraj is also a sessional lecturer at Carleton University’s School of Public Administration, where he has taught management stream courses for the past 12 years. He is bilingual and holds an Honours BA in Political Science, an MBA, a Master of Public Administration and a CMA/CPA designation.
